Over the past four months, students have been traveling, meeting people, and learning a lot. Each student leaves Harlaxton with a different experience, but undoubtedly, all are changed. Students leave Harlaxton a different person, more defined by their experiences.

When asked what experience added the most value to her study abroad experience, Sarah Peterson, sophomore from Inver Grove Heights, Min. said, “I personally enjoyed the Meet-A-Family program. It gave me an opportunity to get away sit down, and relax in a home and learn about British culture through British people.”

The Meet-A-Family program has always been a big success. Numerous students meet weekly, biweekly, or monthly to spend time with a British family.

When asked what was the highlight of his semester, Matt Schueller, sophomore, Peoria, Ill. answered, “traveling. Its been fantastic seeing new places. Also meeting new ppl on the trips has been great, and then of course staying in the manor. Definitely those three things have made my Harlaxton experience really enjoyable.”

Andrea Plunkett, sophomore from Plat City, Missouri said traveling was by far her most memorable experiences from Harlaxton.

“I’d been abroad before, but being here with my friends, making new friends, and traveling with them was awesome. I’ve become more independent and have seen so many beautiful places. Greece was definitely my favorite, although laying on the beaches of Sardinia is a close second,” said Plunkett.

Student after student share testimonies of their favorite Harlaxton Experiences. Plunkett speaks for everyone when she says, “Studying abroad is more than studying. It’s about gaining life experiences, growing as an adult, and seeing the world.”
